The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer with daily responsibilities of all financial transactions. The Staff Accountant will serve as a back-up to various job functions of the CFO such as Federal grant reporting, tracking, and financial statement presentation to Leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare month-end journal entries under direction of CFO.
- Accounts Receivable and Provider Productivity:
- Coordinate all Grant Invoicing Activities, monthly tracking, and annual budgeting
- Take the lead role in coordinating the annual Budget and Forecasting process:
- Coordinate all Federal reimbursement requests and recording of receipts:
- UDS (Uniform Data System) Report and other Federal Requirements:
- Assist with annual audit preparation
- Payroll processing
- Petty Cash
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with three to five years experience in accounting preferred, with an emphasis on not-for-profit financial reporting; Masters or CPA helpful. Database software; Excel and Word. Applicable financial software experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Strong business acumen and problem solving skills. Must be organized and able to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Strong attention to detail.
